'70 Javelin Trans-Am Edition on eBay

Re: '70 Javelin Trans-Am Edition on eBay
Trans am racing engine size was limited to 305 ci. You could not expect to buy it and run in the vintage TA races that are being held.

Interesting car. Pantera, I think that it's only a "trans-am" edition or option package instead of being touted as actual racer. And, if I'm not mistaken, didn't the rules allow for de-stroking of production engines to reach the required 305 cu. in. limit. I believe that's how the AAR, T/A Mopars and LT-1 powered Z-28's got to compete legally.

I have to plead ignorance on the Trans Am option if that is what they sold. I walked by the Rambler dealer everyday when I was going to Jr hi school and just never got into the AMC cars options. You just may be correct on all points. I was just commenting that it didnot look like a actual competion car. According to the rules they had to have a pair of straps holding in the back windows. That one just didn't look like a real race car.
