Jason;
How did Yenko 'embroider' his name on these blocks?

I guess that was the wrong word. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smirk.gif
I guess cast would be better.

Re: ZL-1 Engine For Sale EBAY

Sorry, I wasn't commenting on the grammar choice, but rather on how Yenko would get his name attached to an already cast block?

I believe that Yenko started producing the blocks somewhat later when GM ceased production of them. That is how certain blocks received YENKO cast into them. Yenko had them in his Marine Parts program.

Also, I'm not sure I understand how you could down-size the bore by putting in a smaller ID sleeve. I'm assuming that the thickness of the sleeves are the same, and therefore if the ID increases so does the OD. If you bored out the block to install a larger OD sleeve, how do fill the gap surrounding the smaller OD sleeve?

Is the price really $17k?

Re: ZL-1 Engine For Sale EBAY

The reserve is less than 17K. The machine shop I was dealing with said a thinker sleeve could be place in the block. As I said before I would run it with thesize sleeves that are in it since it would make a bigger displacement and would look the same externally. I was referring to the later Yenko blocks that had the Yenko nam cast into them. I was told he "worked" the original casting to make these blocks. Thanks again everyone for all the info. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
