Need a little price help

I can pick up a 68 Camaro locally. It is a base car 327/powerglide from California, never rusted, never damaged, nice original interior, original weatherstrips, original glass, original never painted supernice trunk, replacement engine, and a barely decent repaint in original color, shows a little less than 100k miles. I have no idea what i want to do with this thing, but an original never rusted never hit car seems to be worth at least 10 grand? Any opinions? Keep in mind I live in the snow/rust belt so a clean car is at a premium., Thanks

Clean cars are bringing a premium everywhere, not just in the rust belt. 10K sounds about right to me. m

BillD, You said it has A replacement engine but was A base 327 with PG? If you do decide to purchase the car and want to go back with the correct engine, I have A 68 327 210HP engine from A camaro that had the PG tranny. It needs to be checked out and rebuilt but I do have the heads, intake, and block with guts. I sold the car and the guy didn't want the engine, said someting about A 502 crate engine . Ten grand is not A bad price for A clean straight car either. Good luck!

Thanks for the offer on the 327, but I actually have a good dated block, heads, manifold and carb sitting around. But, if I do anything with this car it wouldn't involve putting the correct motor back in. I don't plan on hacking the body on the car in any way, but have absolutely no problem changing the driveline in the car

Bill, I just bought the same car basically, but it already has a 94 LT1/4L60E in it and has been converted to 4 wheel disc brakes. It need some more tweaking to be truly road ready, but it's a rust free CA car with a new paint job(not show winning). I paid $10K for it and I think I got a great deal. Your car sounds similar and I would agree with the 10K price range.

I agree. Untouched cars are bringing bigger bucks these days. I paid $12K for my Camaro. It is essentially the same car your talking about. Only difference is my Camaro has the original motor, and 81K fewer miles. (haha) I get just as many questions about the base line Camaro as I do the frame off Corvette.

I think all the guys are correct about the 10G price sounds like a pretty nice car.doesen't hurt to try and bargain a little to try and save a buck though if 10G is the selling price.I am in Texas and the price is pretty much in line with the prices here.

Hey Mossport I too have just about the same kind of car. Only mine is a 2004, a Toyota Corola, and it is a 4 door. Oh....and it has 3400 miles. I think the sticker price is around 15K though.

I don't think your comment is helping the situation.
