69 camaro dashpads.....
 

i'm working on a 69 camaro and bought one of the molded reproduction dash pads and the fit is really bad. is there a reproduction pad out there that is any good? i thought I read somwhere that there was one that has a metal shell thats covered. man i hate repop stuff but what do you do? a real yenko or copo i can see spending $800.00 plus for a NOS pad. but a decent driver? thanks steve

I have a repro on mine, but it doesn't fit to bad. Have to make sure the clips are bent enough to hold tight, and I used small washers by the instrument cluster on the screws just so they would not pull through the cheap vinyl. It pays to look for good used. The originals are metal bound. I know that it is expensive, but it pays to save your money for those types of things because as long as you are driving your car, the DASH is ALWAYS in view. 1969 Black dash pad without AC (repaired studs) still NOS $700.00 This is the least expensive one. I agree they are spendy, but I would rather pay more to get the fit I want, than to use a reproduction pad and not get a fit at all. JMO

An NOS one with A/C just closed on ebay for $810.00. I thought I paid too much for my NOS one, but I guess I got a bargain!
