"P" Marking question..
 

Has anybody ever seen a mark similar to this? It appears to be a "P" over a half circle. The mark appears to have been "punched,' into the metal. It looks like by a punch. It isn't a stamp. Any help appreciated. BTW..sorry for the poor quality photo.

Without nowing the history of your car. I would say it looks like a crude refrence mark for "P" = passenger? to keep track of the head location. But in the case of your picture it is on the drivers. So who know's

Maybe it is the persons initial they put on the head for identification purposes when sent to a machine shop or something. Never saw that mark before. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]
