HURST Round Bar Shifter Handle ID?
I have an old Hurst Round Bar Handle that looks like it's for a console equipped car. It is a bolt on style with 2 mounting holes. Handle has a slight bend at shifter base towards center then rises 4 inches then a 45 degree bend back to the driver. Part number on base between mounting holes is #7926.I emailed Hurst/Mr Gasket and they don't have records that go back before Mr Gasket took over Hurst. This could be 64-69 GTO, 69 Camaro, 69-70 Plymouth Roadrunner, or anything from that era. If anyone knows what it fits please email or PM me.Thanks, Kevin

a picture would help to ID it
OEM Hurst shifters were press in design not bolt on starting about 68 |
Re: HURST Round Bar Shifter Handle ID?
I have heard that the two-hole bolt-in style are all aftermarket, vs the square-hole snap-in style which tends to be all OEM installed.
But I don't know if this is true. Here is a guy that knows a lot more than I do about Hurst shifters....he was able to answer a part number question I posed. Pete Serio's Web Site -Sam |
Re: HURST Round Bar Shifter Handle ID?
Thanks for the info Sam. Looks like most Hurst OEM factory shifters used the bolt on handle from 1970 and up. I sent Pete an email with the part number. Maybe he has the answer. I will try and get a picture to post on site. Can anybody post a pic for me if I email it to ya. Maybe Joe C. if you wouldn't mind?......Thanks, Kevin
