Basic question regarding Nova & Camaro
Good evening all! Here is a basic question that someone asked me, and I didn't know the answer. I hope someone here does.
Are the metal cowl panels the same between the 68-74 Nova and 67-69 Camaros? For clarification, the part I'm talking about is linked below. http://community.webshots.com/photo/...55145850AtCqOP Thanks for any help! |
Re: Basic question regarding Nova & Camaro
No, they are different. The one in your pic is for a nova.

Thank you! How does one tell the difference?

Re: Basic question regarding Nova & Camaro
a camaro one has 2 seperate areas of "slots", with a curved recess around each set of slots. This curved depression is where the ends of the stripes wrap around on a Z/28, if that gives you any type of visual. The Nova and camaro ones really aren't similar at all if you were to see them siede by side.

Re: Basic question regarding Nova & Camaro
The vents are lowered a few inchs from the end to match the hood lines. The are the same length width and the Nova and Camaro will interchange but would look funny on each other.

As they say, a picture is worth 1000 words... or 15 bucks as the case may be! |

[/ QUOTE ] Camarojoe, Thanks for the picture link! That cleared up the visual issues. X44D80, I wondered if they were the same...... so they're halfway there? They'll physically fit? At least I know they won't look right and anyway with half a clue will be able to tell the difference. Someone wanted to buy one of my Nova cowls, but also asked me if they were for their '69 Camaro. I wasn't sure, and really appreciate the education here. Thank you! |
