Any Coast Guard folks out there
Thought I would post this knowing that there are members of this site that are VET's.
_____________ The remains of Lt. Jack C. Rittichier , of Barberton, Ohio, The only member of the U.S. Coast Guard missing in action from the Vietnam War, a pilot lost in a 1968 crash, has had his remains positively identified and returned to his family. ________________ Other remains being returned were those of Force Capt. Richard C. Yeend, Jr ., of Mobile, Ala.; Air Force Staff Sgt. Elmer L. Holden , of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Air Force Sgt. James D. Locker , of Sidney, Ohio. ________________ Today again as has happened all to often is another C-17 bringing in yet still more remains from I believe the Korean War to the Central ID Lab here at Hickam. _________________ |

Hawaiian-i commend your efforts to bring the missing and forgotten heros in the spotlight, My dad was in vietam twice first in 67 and again in 69, altho the army only required one tour he traded orders with a 19 year old the second time. We had orders to go to Germany and the 19 year old had the vietnam tour my dad said we lost so many young men it was the least he could do. I remember the tention during that time frame when the olive drab ford LTD would drive through the neighborhood with bad news for someone, now some closure can be brought to the familys and friends of the missing.
