Off to Illinois
 

I got transferred down to Dixon, Illinois for a while - do any of you guys from Illinois know where that is??? Am I close to anybody on the site! Not that I'll have a lot of play time, but if anybody is near by, we can meet up for a beer since I don't know anyone down here other than the people I work with.
Kevin - If you decide to go to a Packer game, still let me know - I'll being traveling up to the Green Bay area a couple weekends a month...for obvious reasons [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]

Home of Ronald Reagan. I am org from Freeport just south of the WISC/IL state line. Dixon has some pretty nice cars in the area and not really a bad place to be . Winters will be about the same though.

Hey Fred- Dixon is about an hour and 20 minutes west of my area. There are still some cruise nights going on. I believe Lombard on Saturdays might interest you. And there is Vettefest in November. I'd like to meet you this time.

Looks like you're a couple of hours due west of Chicago. Watch out for HVYCHEVY and MR 70! You're gonna be WAY too close to those guys. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif[/img] Quite a few others there too, but these bear watching!
Seriously, being that close to the Windy, you should consider attending Chevy VetteFest in November. Lots of the folks from this site will be there and it's a great place to put faces with the names you see here. Good luck with the move.

So far so good down here I guess...I had the pleasure to meet Mike (sixtiesmuscle) and Dru Deisner, both from the Chicago area at the reunion - they shared their table at the banquet with my better half and me. I was about 1 car length away from meeting Rick(mr70). Her and I have already decided we are going to attend vette fest - she drives a '65 vette so there was no arm twisting there [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif[/img]! I live 15 miles south of the Quadcities. This sunday there is a car show at Scott Community College, Bettendorf Iowa, 8 to 4pm. It's always a good show. Sept. 20 there is a show in downtown Dixon, from 10 to 3pm. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

Hey, I'm from Dixon! Actually live about 7 miles from town. Lived in the area all my life. Are you here now? Get ahold of me if you need any help with anything. It's a rainy weekend so it looks like my car will stay home.
