My '68 Firebird had this type of spare along with the air cylinder to blow the tire up. I don't know how well they would stretch into shape after 35 years.

My father had a bunch up above the garage. I blew 4 up last year since I needed to get a car rolling. Surpizingly they all held air and work fine!
