1969 Z/28 speedo cable
Does the speedometer cable on a 1969 Z/28 exit the firewall any different than any other V-8 1969 camaro's? Thanks, sam

Re: 1969 Z/28 speedo cable
All Muncie transmissions (which included all Z/28 had the speedo cable exit by the transmission tunnel. That is because the speedo connection for Muncies is on the passenger side. TH350, TH400 and PG were all on the driver side, so the firewall hole was below the master cylinder. Not sure about other trannies, but I think all but Muncie were on the driver side.

Re: 1969 Z/28 speedo cable
This is what I thought. I think the Muncie cars come out of the tunnel on an angle toward the passenger side of the car. Thanks, Sam

Open your '69 Camaro Assembly Manual to "UPC M20-A9" on page 330. It shows the routing of the two piece cable.

Here's a good pic of the hole on my firewall. It is just above the hole where the accelerator rod mounts. It is at an angle towards the tunnel.
