Rebuilds Spiral & Tube Shocks
I was at the Portland swap meet earlier this sping & came accross a guy who rebuilds tube shocks.
I had a look at some samples & they didn't look bad at all. The only evidence from the repair was a small MIG Bead around the bottom of the shocks. I think with a bit of finish work you could make them have a more stock look. I believe he charges $50 a shock. He told me he got into this recently & usually does the antique Ford shocks & Houdaille Reproduction (I have no idea what that is!!). If anyone is interested () PM me & I'll send the info. P.S. I'm not getting anything out of this so think of it as a public sevice Rob |
Re: Rebuilds Spiral & Tube Shocks
There used to be a Houdaille plant in Oshawa making bumpers for GM and others. The plant is now owned by A.G. Simpson, an auto parts manufacturer. I would certainly appreciate this fellow's address as I still have the original front shocks from our car.

And if you see Stefano crawling under your car to look for small welds on your shocks...swat him
