BB Nova with Air
Since I recently came across 2 ads with BB Novas having air, does anybody here know if it was ever made by the factory or did anybody here ever own a legit one? Both are said to be 396/350 hp cars. Here are the links:

I am not that up to date on Novas, but wasn't it fairly common to get air conditioning on a 1970 L34 SS Nova? I know the solid lifter engines did not Air Cond.,but did get A.I.R.(SMOG) from the Assembly line. |

Several of us NOVA guys don't know the answer so that is why I posted the question to see if anybody here maybe owned one. It would be great if somebody had a build sheet or protecto plate or even an original owner saying they had one. I tend to agree that the solid lifter BB did not get air conditioning option. Both cars I posted though were L34 BB cars not L78 BB cars. Ron |

I can't say as I have ever looked specifically for an L-34 1970 Nova with factory A/C,but I have a Radiator tag code Manual for all 1970 Cars. For 1970 Nova it shows: *L-34 code ZD for Man Trans. *L-34 code ZE for Auto. Trans Next it shows: Nova codes with A/C & H.D. Radiators only. L-48 code VK for Manual trans. L-48 code VR for PG & CBC Trans. According to this manual it looks like the L-34 1970 Nova could not come with A/C.... |
Re: BB Nova with Air
What does the 70 Nova assembly manual show?
Boy I like this smiley. |
Re: BB Nova with Air
The Nova assembly manuals do not show instructions for building a big block Nova with AC. The Camaro assembly manuals do have a few pages for this combination.
