Going to Fast
 

Found this site http://www.outrunu.com/ about a race in Phoenix Az last night
A 67 gtx and a Buick The Buick got to the finish line first but the NHR rules said they both fouled they went TO fast GTX 11.96 Buick 11.92
I donít get it I thought thatís the point to get there fast It takes all the fun out of it

Norm,
Take another look...I think the HEMI got to the finish line .008 sec in front of the Buick. I believe it has something to do with the reaction time.

Yes you are right the Hemi got off a little sooner
But I have to say that I do not agree with the rules [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]
I for one would not waste my gas It would seem that both cars were equal It really takes away from what the sport is about and takes all the fun out of it Its been many many years since I raced at Acto my guess things have really changed Back then you would run as hard as you could to beat the car you were racing and not worry about going to fast https://www.yenko.net/attachments/32195-huh.gif

Seems the Buick was running headers and dot stickies!..... the hemi was running exhaust manifolds
and G70-14's poly's!..... oops!

The problem is that a roll bar was required for cars quicker than 12.00, and neither car had one.

If you have not read up on the rules, the Factory stock/Pure stock racing and the F.A.S.T. races do not allow for roll cages. That is why most of the races are run at I.H.R.A. tracks. Rules for I.H.R.A. rollbars= 11.50 or quicker, N.H.R.A.= 11.99 or quicker. Some of the guys in F.A.S.T. have about run out of tracks to run at. If you want to see a heated debate, bring up rollcages or somehow limiting speed on those guys. You had better have your lead linded undies on if you go there!
