I don't think too many are passing over them much any more. Just watch what some of the cars are bringing on ebay that are getting pulled out of barns, groves, etc.. Heck that last 69 L89 Nova that was on ebay didn't last long. It didn't even make it to the end of the auction. Seller sold early. I think the Yenko Deuces are bring more attention to the Novas now. And the few 69 Yenkos that have been found. Ron |
Re: Seems like Nova's always get overlooked by
I would agree with Ron on the Yenko Deuce comment. When I started my registry back in '96, there was a consistently equal number of cars that were in either original/unrestored condition vs. in-process of restoration. We could see then that the 'awareness' of the Yenko Deuce was about to effectively 'double' as soon as the deuces in process were completed. Within a few years, that is exactly what happened, most of those cars in-process are now completed and circulating. We also reaped a surprising benefit from this, as more cars were completed and circulated, the increased awareness tended to bring more cars out of the woodwork - cars that we probably would not have found otherwise.

Marlin,
These cars(Novas) are still out there. Heck, I found mine first in 2000, but bought it finally in 2001. Car hadn't seen the light of day since 1990. Heck, I just found out my first 72 Nova is still in existance in my town. How cool is that. There are a lot of Novas in my area. Lots of them tucked in garages, sheds. I have learned of several recently. I know of a 69 and 70 that never get driven. Just sit for many years. Inside of course. Ron |
Re: Seems like Nova's always get overlooked by
I actually stopped taking my COPO Nova to shows in the mid 80's. People would walk right on by and not even look at it. Especially when they saw the hub caps!!!! By the mid 90's that started to change, but not really till I started racing it and got some coverage in MCR and Chevy High Performance. People now seem to pay attention and look for it at these events now, trouble is, I hav'nt had it out in 4 years......shame, shame, shame!!!!!
