tronic72,
I think you need to list what hp your car is along with info if it is a manual or automatic transmission. Ron |

My Bad.
68 SS/RS 396 Camaro with Auto (turbo 400) . I "think" it's a 325Hp 396 but am not sure. I've just grabbed the numbers of the Engine. They are as follows: Engine Number: TI12IMY 18N351287 Manifold Number: 3883948 To any knowlegable soles out there who can tell me what Engine these numbers mean. I'd love to hear from you. Mark |
Re: 68 396 SS camro.........Which Quadrajet???
Engine Number: TI12IMY 18N351287
Manifold Number: 3883948 T1121MY + T= Tonawanda Engine Plant 11= November 21= Day of the month MY= 396/325 HP with Turbo Tranny 18N351287 + 1= Chevy Division 8= 1968 N= Norwood Assembly Plant 351287= Vehicle Seq Number off the Norwood Plants line. If its is being called a numbers matching car the number should also match the Cars VIN. Since its a 68 model car and the VIN seq number stars with 3xxxxx its out of a Camaro. 3883948= This intake was used from 1966-1968 on both 396 and 427 engines. for the 68 model year on a Camaro it was used on the 396/325 & 350 HP engines and was topped off with a Rochester Q-jet carb You should be looking for a Rochester 4 BBl Carb Number 7028210--4MV which could also be found on Chevelle and regular Passenger cars with the same engine (396/325 HP/Auto Tranny) |

Re: 68 396 SS camro.........Which Quadrajet???
Hey sorry,
When I first checked the post it only had the first few lines (hence the "huh" thankyou so much for all that info. As you can probably tell I'm new the this. I'm looking to purchase a few books so I can get up to speed on First Gen Camaro's and how to restore them. If you know of any then I'd be thankful for their names/authors. Thanks again.
