COPO 9737
On the 9737 package with Atlas option, was the spare a rally wheel? Also, Did any come with Firestone wide oval white letter tires?

Re: COPO 9737
I'm not sure what you mean by 'Atlas option'?
The 9737 package changed each year, I think it started on the Stinger Corvairs in '66, was adapted to the Camaros in '68, changed a little for the Camaros and Chevelles in '69, and then again for the Novas in '70. I don't recall this COPO package including the Atlas Mags if that's what you were referring to, the Mags were an extra cost dealer installed option only. |
Re: COPO 9737
Even when you got the Atlas wheels, you received a Ralley wheel spare (YH wheel) and the tires were E70-15 wide treat GTs

Re: COPO 9737
Tom, that is correct, the same procedure was true for the '70 Novas and their wheel change. Even though Yenko installed the Magnum 500 wheels on the Deuces, the spare rim was the factory issued XT painted body color. Yenko was a business man first, no sense giving away an extra rim per car, that would be an extra 175 Magnum wheels he would have to buy - approximately 44 sets of them!!

Re: COPO 9737
I was in college in Pittsburgh in the late 60's and I can remember seeing wheels and motors for sale in the Pittsburgh Press Classifieds.
On the Tire, I just found a 15' Firestone Wide Oval (white letter) I guess it's wrong for a spare, but I guess I'll use it anyway! |
Re: COPO 9737
There was no 9737 option for the Stinger Corvairs. They had COPO options 9513A for the 3.89 ratio (50 cars) and 9861E for dual master brake system (all cars).
