Car Prices From 1986

Just to make everybody a little sick and say: Man, if I could turn back the clock. Ask me what your car was worth according to a 1986 Price guide. I'll start it off and anybody else curious let me know.
1969 ZL-1 Camaro top price listed? $17,000
1970 LS6 Chevelle Hardtop top price listed? $6,600
1970 LS6 Chevelle Convertible top price listed? $9,000
1969 Nova SS L78 top price listed? $5,000
1966 Biscayne top price listed? $4,100 (That one's for you Motown)
Others?
Ron
BTW they don't even mention the word Yenko yet in that book!

Yep, and the non-musclecar person in 86 would've said: "can they get that good of money for used cars"?

But to be even more sick, turn the clock back to the time I'd prefer to buy them; which is when they cost way less and were brand new in 1966-70.

Our COPO Chevelle listed for $4436.50 CDN and the 9566AA package cost $649.00 CDN. I think the Canadian and US dollars were somewhere near par in those days. They just charged a little more for everything up here.

The real question is .........Which cars that are available today at a low price will appreciate significantly in 10 or 20 years. There were a lot of special built cars done in the mid 70s and 80s that are selling for less the 10K today. What will they be worth in 2020?

Yes, I've been noticing those IROC Camaros are going pretty cheap these days!

In 1980 I traded a 1977 Trans Am ( 4 speed - 400) for a 1970 SS Chevelle, LS6, M22 with a 4.10 posi...and get this, I got $500.00 to boot.
Ah, those were the days.....

Bill,
It is interesting to see that the older you get the bigger your cars get

Mark,
Just a plain 1967 Camaro Z28 is listed at $13,000 top price. On the L-78's, which year and would it be a coupe, convertible, Pace Car, SS, RS, Z28? I know the 69 had a BB pace car but I don't know about 67? Can you narrow it down a little for me?

Re: Car Prices From 1986

Sorry Ron, I should have been more specific. I wanted info on the '67 L78 Camaro Coupe.

Wow, $13,000 for a '67 Z - I'll take a dozen please!

Thanks again,
