Re: LS6 Coupe
Well Stefano, considering what I've seen recently in regard to prices for some top quality rare cars, the asking price on this seems very reasonable if it is as nice as indicated. Wonder what the mileage is?

Re: LS6 Coupe
Better not get those hands too far off the wheel! At 100 mph nothing tracks straight and true on polyglas very long!

Re: LS6 Coupe
Don,
It is a frame off which was done a while ago and well maintained. The Speedo reads 6X,000 miles (?) and was not reset to Zero. I do not know the actual miles prior to the restoration or how many it was driven after. |
Re: LS6 Coupe
For those that have never drove a LS6 with 3.31's..it is a study in mounds of torque, no gear, and small tires.....The car should break traction very easily on the "passing" gear upshift on drive payment at 75mph...literally unreal..

Re: LS6 Coupe
I have a correction to make I transposed the mileage on the LS6s. The Coupe shows 23,xxx miles and is believed to only have turned over once prior to the restoration.
I was thinking of Rob and COPO Pete when it hit second gear and broke the tires loose at speed under WOT. Do you guys use a converter looser than stock to allow for more slipage The torque with the 3.31s will still set you back in the seat. Kevin said that it ran strong, but then again he drives Hondas |

Mine stalls just under 2500, like the factory. On the skinnies, that's about right. We've tried converters both ways, and the stock hi-po (6 lug) stall speed is about right. Now, if you're running stickies, you can loosen it up a bit. Try raising your shift point...that will help "lessen" the shock to the tires. |
Re: LS6 Coupe
Nope. I use nothing but the stock 6 bolt converters in my cars! Stock remember!

Re: LS6 Coupe
I have the stock 6 bolt converter. However I also found that when we cut the compression back to 10:1 the car felt stronger. I have regular street radials on the car (F70's) and the car will literally lay rubber through 1st and 2nd.
