427 Monaro at Sydney Motor Show
Yes, General Motors Holden has done what Chevrolet could (WOULD ) not. A LS1 427 Monaro (the new GTO ) is on display at the Motor show. Unlike its Camaro ZL1 counterpart, it has subtle body work, and is very understated, except for small 427 badge.
Don't know the price or how many they will sell, am trying to get my hands on a press kit, and if I could work out how to post pics, I would put some up. I know this may be painful for some of you, but are there any prospective buyers who would be interested, would put them in touch with one of the ordering dealerships if you are. |
Re: 427 Monaro at Sydney Motor Show
Just read a blurb in a Pontiac magazine. Only 20,000 cars are being built for U.S. and it will not be easy to get one. They estimate 10 cars per dealer on average.

Re: 427 Monaro at Sydney Motor Show
I heard 18,000, mostly autos, we now have about a 3 month wait on a auto Monaro. They will all have the Camaro engine, but with better airflow. Don't believe there is any plan to send any 427's to the US. Production of these will be under 100 (est ) and they should go very quickly( pardon the pun )

Re: 427 Monaro at Sydney Motor Show
A local mag is saying 420KW about 560hp (net ), making it if I am not wrong the most powerful, chevrolet powered car ever !!!!. Seems they will build around 50 at US $110,000.
Sure there arn't any takers....kind of makes this years ZL-1 Camaro....tame. Hell it will give just about anything built heartburn. Oh yeah, damm Fords now have a 385hp (290KW ) GT on the market with a 4 valve 5.40 ltres. Cars a 4 door 5 seat sedan just like our Commodores. |
