Headers and Exhaust on COPO Camaro
I was thinking of installing a set of headers on my 69 COPO just for fun for a while and had a few questions:
1. Doug's or Thorley's? 2. Chrome or ceramic? 3. 1 3/4" x 3" or 2" x 3 1/2" 4. What do you do about the stock exhaust from the collector back? 5. If it's better to replace the stock exhaust do you go with Mandrel bent or a new Gardner system? Any thoughts would be appreciated. |

1.Thorley,2. ceramic,3.1-3/4" x 3",4.install separate system just for headers. 5.mandril bent. just my opinion.

Re: Headers and Exhaust on COPO Camaro
I have used the Torque-Tech Mandrel Bent Aluminized 3" Kit on several Cars. It fits great, installs in no time. You will have to coat it for show quality however. Three inch pipes are loud even with three series Flow Masters.

Re: Headers and Exhaust on COPO Camaro
My '68 Camaro has 3" pipes all the way back from the headers, with what appears to be Flowmaster's (on there when I bought it, so I don't know for sure). It is a louder & "throatier" then the 4" hooker headers & sidepipes (which don't seem to have inserts) on my Maco.
