Block ID ?

BLOCK- ALUMINUM 3952318
3946052(3); 4 BOLT MAIN; WINTERS

Question on the (3) does that mean the block could be either 052 or 053 or that there were only 3 made???

Re: Block ID ?

052 is the original 1969 ZL1 aluminum engine. 053 is the 1997 ZL1 aluminum version. Mortec.com has a complete listing for all engine and head casting numbers. Aloha

Mahalo for the clarification on the 052/053 numbers. also what would one be worth that has been sitting in the mudd and dirt for 22+ years. has pistons and crank. No heads

Re: Block ID ?

If it's an original 1969 ZL1 block (casting number ending in 052), it's worth alot. Ed Cunneen would be the man that could verify it's authenticity (think that's spelled right). Aloha
