I JUST PURCHASED THE FLY-EYE 12" AIR CLEANER NEW IN BOX. THIS AIR CLEANER HAS A MOUNTING KIT CONSISTING OF A 3" BAR FOR ALIGNMENT AND ADJUSTMENT OF THE MOUNTING SCREW TO THE AIR CLEANER BASE PLATE. IT ALSO HAS A PROVISION FOR THE EMISSION TUBE. (HOWEVER, MOTION PERFORMANCE DID NOT UTILIZE THIS TUBE ACCORDING TO MY RESEARCH) HOPE THIS HELPS YOU OUT SOME.

Hi All, I am looking for a fly eye air cleaner myself. Can you give me any idea where to get one?
Thanks,
Mako

They come up on Ebay from time to time. Most seem to go for around $100.

Bird, If I remember correctly the way they mount is with a cross bar (flat metal bar about 3/4 inch wide by about 5 or 6 inches long). Take the cleaner top (screens and foam) off, put the bottom on the carb, put the bar on the existing screw in the middle of the carb and tighten it enough to keep the base of the cleaner tight, then put the screens, foam and screen keeper back on. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a long time since I had one. Hope that helps.

MAKO IS EXACTLY RIGHT ON HOW IT IS INSTALLED. I HAVE BID SEVERAL TIMES ON E-BAY ON THESE CLEANERS BUT WHEN THE BID GOT TO OVER $150, I BAILED OUT; THE LAST TIME I JUST GOT LUCKY. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE SELL FOR LESS THAN $150.00, IF THAT. THEY ARE MADE BY MR GASKET AND CAL CUSTOM. GOOD LUCK!

I've bought 2 on Ebay for under $75 in the last 6 months in great condition. Sorry they're not for sale.

Ironclad made the ebay deal of the year when he got his NOS Mr Gasket one for $12.99 recently. I bought one at a Canton Ohio swap meet last year that is in near NOS condition and complete for $4.00. They are actually fairly common at the small swap meets-Mr Gasket probably made 2-3 million of them over the years. They are usually in incomplete condition but you can usually find the missing pieces you need.
Best swap meets to buy old speed parts are the 15-30 vendor types that are a sidebar to a small local car show. Not professional dealers at these shows but guys just cleaning out their garage and needing a few extra bucks. All the big swap meets like Carlisle are picked clean and prices very high.
