Exhaust Manifold Treatments
I couldn't find anything on any past post on this subject.
There are several products on the market to use on exhaust manifolds. Has anyone had any certain brand work that will LAST and didn't have to be re-applied? Some of the products don't look factory (more like paint) and some will peel after a while. Who makes the best product on the market? Anyone have sugestions or experiences? |

Stefano,
What is POR exhaust manifold Gray and who sell it. |
Re: Exhaust Manifold Treatments
Best manifolds I've seen were done by Jerry MacNeish. They don't rust and it doesn't look like paint.

Leave them natural. The factory did...BKH

Re: Exhaust Manifold Treatments
POR products are advertised in several car magazines, Hemmings, larger swap meets. Or try here, www.por15.com

Re: Exhaust Manifold Treatments
You could get them Jet-Hot coated, they have a natural finish that looks close to stock.

Re: Exhaust Manifold Treatments
Griot's Garage has a high temp paint in cast iron that looks natural, but lasts. The coatings by Jet Hot and others are best, but also expensive. And of course natural is the way for a concourse resto. I'm too lazy to keep natural finish components "de-rusted" so I usually look for solutions as well.

Re: Exhaust Manifold Treatments
I ordered the POR product and I'm going to try another product they have that is for the spings and other suspension things that are bare metal. They claim that it will look like bare metal and will not rust. I have a new set of leaf springs that need something.
Anyone else used this product called Metal Mask? |
