69 396 ss camaro
Hello all
Can anyone tell me if any 69 396 ss camaro came with a 10 bolt rearend. I'm a new member and sure like this site. Have loved yenkos and copos for years, just not rich enough to own one yet! Thank You |
Re: 69 396 ss camaro
Anything is possible, but it is very unlikely. I have howeve,r seen an early 1967 SS 350 A/C car with a 10 bolt non posi which was coded correctly and believed original.

Re: 69 396 ss camaro
Thanks Stefano
I was sure that was the case. I'm looking at a car that appears to be an original 69 396 SS, but it does have a 10 bolt.It has the right hood, heater core, etc. Thanks Again |
Re: 69 396 ss camaro
I would question it as I have not seen a big block Camaro with a 10 bolt from the factory until 1971. Check the stamping on the rh axle tube on the leading edge. Contact the CRG at www.camaros.org and give them the information. They can help you the best. It is possible that it is an SS396 but that the rear end has been changed..................RatPack...............

Check out the rear leaf springs. Five leaf is what I would expect...BKH

Re: 69 396 ss camaro
is there an X code on the trim tag?
|
Re: 69 396 ss camaro
Thanks Joe
Not sure, but will know tomorrow or Sunday. Hopefully it not an early production model without the x code. |
Re: 69 396 ss camaro
Hello
Looked at the car yesterday. It actually had a 12 bolt and it is a true X66 car. And now it's mine,I almost feel almost good as good as Charlie does with his 67 Pace Car. Thanks to all for your help. |
