Is this a Motion hood?

This Corvette on e-bay appears to have a Motion hood on it but no other Motion parts.

I don't know but the ad seems strange. He says he's been driving the car and its a one owner. But he says the car was originally yellow and SOMEONE in the past had it repainted. Is he the original owner? If not then its a two owner if I'm not mistaken, no big deal but it had me confused for a second. About the hood, I never seen one like that. I assume the Motion hoods were much more pronounced, as in larger scoop, more noticeable.

The pics are pretty crappy but the hood does look VERY similar to one of the Phase III 'Vette hoods I've Seen:http://www.corvettes-musclecars.com/...dwin/index.htm

IMHO I think the 67 stinger is mounted too far back. It should be a L-88 style hood with
a 67 stinger on top with I think an air gap at the front of the stinger. Randy Leffingwell
book on the Otis Chandler collection shows it well.

I think the Motion hood was a 67 type hood scoop with no stinger mounted on the stock type big block hood scoop. Look at this picture of Kevin's Motion Corvette.

Re: Is this a Motion hood?

Looks like a phase III hood. The 67 vette scoop was molded into a standard 427 hood not an L88 hood, and the top of the hood bulge gets smoothed with no stinger. Doesn't sound like a motion vette though. He describes it as a 390HP car. It has a rochester carb (phase II cars came with a holley) and I think he means he is the "only owner" he doesn't sound like the original owner. That statement is a little deceiving. But who knows. He also said it was missing carb linkage. Maybe it had a holley on it and somebody changed it back to a qjet not knowing what the car was. Original restored 427/390 are worth around $20,000 so it would be a decent deal for around $10,000 and you might be pleasantly suprised if it is a BM car. The hood alone is worth something if its a real BM hood and it definately looks like one.
