I sold a '67 to a friend a number of years ago and it still had its original top in place, when my friend saw the beautiful new top I put on my 1967 survivor car, he wanted to have me put a new top on his car. I said "NOOOOOOO, don't do that". He recently said, let's trade tops and that's how all this came about. He was going to pull the original top off since the window was yellow and some seams were separating. My car came with a white top as per the tank sticker and it had a black top on it when I put the new white top on. His original top needed serious cleaning and some seam repair, but after a few hours of work, this top turned out very nice. The first two pictures are of the top on the car it came on, the second two are after cleaning and seam repair. I'll post a picture once installed on my Survivor car.

You need to remember this friend with a case of beer on his birthday and flowers for his wife Tim!! You are getting the best part of the trade by far.

The original teal blue top on my '67 is always a topic of discussion.

I remember your original top, Bill. An original soft top is an asset to any car.

Tim.. Tell us what products you used to clean the top and window.
Other than "elbow grease"

I used LMO Super Glue on the separated seams and Magic Eraser sponges on the top. The back window was really coming loose. The top has some integrity now, I don't know if it will last another 60 years, but I sure won't last that long.

I use Meguiar’s Plastix on my back window and it works great. I recently used it on an original dated plastic window on a 1967 Camaro. It removed all the hazing and yellowing. Before I did, you could barely see inside. After, you could see all the way through and the hood. Barry knows chemicals.

I haven’t really addressed back window hazing yet, that’s a good recommendation. I had to stabilize the window before I worked it.

Thank you.

Clean it with a warm water soaked cloth. Then use the Plastix.
