LOF Glass Dating for Z28 Questions....

What is the Consensus on Dates for Glass on a car? How Far in advance of build date for Windshield / Back Glass / Side Glass
I have a LA Built 1968 Z28 with a Build Date of 06C that has what I consider to be original glass (except for windshield.)
The Side and Quarter Glass are dated IX (June,68) and the Rear Glass is XX (February, 68)
Could this be correct? I guess I am more surprised by the side and qtr glass being dated same month as cars build date.
I am getting ready to order glass (Auto City Diamond) for both a 69 and 70 T/A and am curious what the "experts" say about correct date ranges for glass....i.e. how much spread etc....
Thanks in advance for any and all comments...

Not what you seek as it is a 02C Baltimore built 69 Chevelle but it has its factory windows
All PPG
All soft Ray

Windshield 1 - 19. Jan 69 Crieghton Pa plant

Back glass 26 - 19. Jan 69 Crestline OH plant

All 4 side windows 27 - 19. Jan 69 Tipton PA plant

1969 Z/28 03D (Forth week of March) production date. Front windshield and rear glass February. Left-side door and quarter glass February. Right-side door and quarter glass January all LOF. Usually, a one-to-three-month prior date of the cars production date is acceptable. I have seen some original car go back as far as six months but not very often.

No info on dates but in addition to sending them photos of your dates, make sure you include the edge distances. I had them do the glass for my Chevelle and while the stamps are ok the location is not, the quarters are to low. Those are hand stamped so they can put them anywhere you’d like.

Not uncommon to see a flyer in the dates. Often close, but with 6 pieces of glass, every so often... Here's 3 June cars with lots of Feb and March glass.

06A 69 NOR - LV (Mar 69) for everything but a 1/4 glass (Feb 69). Another 06A is all May 69 except a 1/4 - Feb 69 again.
Another has: WS, RD, RQ - Mar 69, LD - Feb, LQ & BL - April.

Thanks everyone for the great info. This confirms what I have for my car.
I have found a great guy that is making the stencils to use with armor etch. As soon as I get some testing in and confirm all is good I will post his contact information...
Thanks Again...

Really pleased so far with the Auto City glass in my 70Z. The tinting is very good with none that I can see of the "spotting" I've seen on others.

The curvature on the side windows is also very good. It took a little bit to get them adjusted, mostly due to my inexperience and going slow. My understanding is that these windows are tough due to their size and being frameless. They ended up just about perfect. I think the 70 Birds used the same glass.

There was a tiny spot on one that wouldn't come off with glass cleaner or my fingernail. I tried some cerium oxide I had and it came off in seconds of rubbing.

More info here on second gen Firebird glass.
The DOT coding is interesting and something I didn't know.

Yes, I have used Auto City and all seems to be good. I have been td in the past to make sure you get the "DIAMOND" Brand from them. That may be all they are selling I do not know but that is what I have gotten so far...Last I heard the "Etching" added 4-6 weeks to the order...
