1964 GTO “Two Tone” paint
16 Attachment(s)
I’m not a big fan of the first year 1964 GTO, but this car has always peaked my interest since I first learned of it in 2016.
Lots of reasons listed below. Two Tone paint (R-T) R - lower body Alamo Beige / T - upper body Singapore Gold. Interior - 216 Saddle that is beautiful. Engine - 77J, Tri-Power w/vacuum linkage, Automatic. Total production 693. No console car with the 2 speed on the steering column. Some articles have called it an Unrestored car, but it has been repainted. Custom wheel disc and Splitters have been added. Always liked the one year only ‘64 engine turned dash bezel. Looks unassuming, but a 3x2 with a two speed linked to a 3.90 axle. Hang On! |
What a great looking GTO!

----Stunning 64, Chris! I just love odd color combos, especially when they are as cool as this. Only imagining, but someone must have spent some time working out what they wanted in color combos as well as options. Would have loved to se a 4-spoke optional wheel at the drivers end of the column, but no biggie!....Bill S

Very interesting GTO. Wonder if someone intentionally did not check the console box?

Sharp GTO. I remember seeing it at the Pontiac show at Norwalk quite a few years ago. I even have some pictures of it. I am biased about the color because my first car I ever bought was a 1964 Catalina in Alamo beige with a saddle interior. It too was sold from the same dealer as this GTO was sold from. Unfortunately i had the junk the car due to frame rust. About 8/9 years later I saw an ad for an 1964 Bonneville that was close to me so I called on it. Funny thing was I was just interested in the condition of the frame, body and how it ran and nothing else. The owner told me it was an all original California car and ran and drove great that he just bought 2 years ago and brought it to Ohio. You can imagine my surprise when he opened the garage door and it was in the same beige with saddle interior combination as my old Catalina. That was about 30 years ago and I still have the Bonneville.

Absolutely the best steering wheel ever made. One year only ‘64 Custom Sports Wheel. Plus 8 lugs. |
