Dist Hold down bracket and bolt correctness
Have a 68 427 engine alum intake that we are trying to identify what is the " correct distributor hold down bracket and bolt". I have seen the usual style of the V looking bracket and bolt, OR is it the Wire Type Clamp with a hold-down retainer and bolt.
Appreciate the advise - 68 GM, Corvette or full size car - as possible applications. |
68 Z used the wire type if that helps

Surprised that anyone had issues with the distributor moving (as mentioned when they were tuning on one) UNLESS for some reason the retainer ("retainer" (P/N 3770598)) was missing. I have used a lot of those, and never had an issue; but I always used the retianer.
I think the 68 327/275 engine from a full size chevy that is now in my 57 has the wire hold down complete with the retainer. Knew a couple girls back in the day that could have benefitted from using "retainer" (P/N 3770598). |
