David E Davis Drives the New Z/28

Colorful write-up of his trip from the GM desert proving ground to Detroit in a 67 Z. David was one of my wife's customers so I asked her to have this copy signed. She said he was a super nice guy.

I subscribed to Car & Driver from the late 60's to the early 70's and loved the columns and car reviews by their colorful editorial staff.

Great read, never came across that one before.

Brought me back to the old C&D/Automobile magazine days when I subscribed as a youth. |
Enjoyed
X2, IMO you don’t see this style of writing about subjects these days. I enjoyed it. 👍

I enjoyed DED every month in Car & Driver. They were the days. Amazing writer. Brilliant man

Love that style of writing. A.I. needs to read it and take notes.

He kept it at almost 5k for hours on end, unreal... the gas that thing must have swallowed at that pace? If this was a press core car, wonder if Chevy tweaked it/blueprinted the engine?. Great article, very colorful

Chevrolet and the press referred to the car as a Z-28 for the '67 model year, not a Z/28. When they put emblems on the fenders in mid-'68, a slash made it easier to tie the whole emblem together as one piece.

Cool read… never heard 1100 as a potential number produced …??
