Roto- Hydramatic transmission

Also known as the "Slim Jim" trans.

It uses a flex plate rather than a torque converter, coupled with a "super low" first gear, then regular first, second and third.

I pulled mine out and replaced with a TH400 from a '67 Buick Riviera.

----Thanks, Keith! I kept remembering the Slim Jim as a 4-speed. I also remember that performance oriented guys distanced themselves from them. Way, way back, I had a pretty cool 62 GP with the S-J trans and didn't keep it long!....Bill S
