Battery Box 85 GMC Truck...
 

Looking for input on a better battery box for my 85 GMC K1500 truck. The factory unit actually ripped off the inner fender mounting locations. I use this truck on a rough road to our Adirondack camp. Anything that can come loose or break will happen on this road. :tongue:

Perhaps there is an aftermarket unit that would be stronger...ideally something that the battery can actually sit in, as opposed to just the simple tray with rubber grommet and a single bolt.

Any ideas are appreciated.

You might check out the Dorman heavy-duty battery tray or GM-style steel replacements made for off-road builds. A lot of guys have had good luck with Summit Racing or LMC Truck options, they’re sturdier and let the battery sit more securely. You may have to try them out.
