'63 Corvette Convertible, #s 340hp, $56k

Seems like a pretty sweet deal for this '63 convertible, considering any C2 project car seems to fetch $20k regardless of condition.

----Everything I see in this add says "buy me". I'm not totally in love with the stamp pad, but even so the car appears worth more than this price.
Due diligence is still warranted, of course, but I like what I see!....Bill S

I had the same thoughts on all counts, Bill. I sure would prefer a '63 coupe though.

It’s been on Craigslist for awhile, with no picture of the pad. I can see why it’s been advertised a long time.

----Funny, but I had a twin to this car while working at Classic Motors For Jack Douglas and Richard Buxbaum. I was on the floor at our Corvette shop on a Saturday and a guy from Wisconsin called and asked if we bought Corvettes. My standard answer was "we have to buy 'em to sell 'em"! He drove down a couple of days later and I bought it on the spot. White/red 340hp in really nice original condition. It was my car but Richard was free to sell it and did about 2 months layer to a very good customer in Penn. This all transpired in 1977, and the same owner called me a couple of months ago and told me he enjoyed that 63, out of around 35 collector Corvettes, was his favorite. Absolutely made my day!....Bill S

Agreed. Definitely an attractive entry point for a midyear, regardless of its short comings.

The price differential between an equal quality 63 roadster and coupe is really amazing to me........

I take back what I posted earlier, after looking on a PC rather than a phone, the engine stamp could be OK. If it's not rusted and the tags are good, it's a pretty nice entry into C2 ownership. I think 63 convertibles are highly underrated.
