Just my 2 cents but in my humble opinion this Yenko should be the most sought after Yenko built bar none. Reason being it is one of I think only 5 verified gold cars to still exist, original engine and rear axle, and being the original road test car is the mega bonus. I kick myself for not buying it when Vince told me about it, if my memory is correct it was 20 for the car and another 5 for the engine. As Archie and Edith Bunker said those were the days.

Part of this car's great history is documented in the original Super Stock magazine article.
Bill Jenkins, Ed Hedrick, Dave Strickler, and Jere Stahl were at York with the car and helped with the drag test. They adjusted the timing and valve lash, installed spring clamps, and slicks, and Jere Stahl installed a 6in header collector extension when they opened the headers. (Stahl Engineering was a top header manufacturer.) There was a lot of drag racing talent there to oversee the tuning and driving |
Is this the one coming up for auction at Mecums
