1965 gto

This car needs to be corrected in a lot of areas, but worth it.

Excellent options!

Nice looking car. I think the passenger side muffler is on backwards....looks like the arrow with the word "INLET" is pointing to the rear :hmmm:

----Yank the air-shocks right away and then call Gardner for complete (splitter) exhaust, and I would only piddle with stuff after that....Bill S

great looking car but the ad is slightly deceiving. They state it's 365hp tripower engine as documented through the PHS document but never state if it's the original engine and trans. So, I don't think you can call it a survivor, especially with a repaint in the 70s but it certainly has plenty of wow factor especially with that gold interior.

New photos have been uploaded showing engine components.
WS = Tri-Power (360 HP), manual shift.
Block date = very close to build date.
Cylinder heads #77 = ‘65 GTO.

No, this is not a Survivor as advertised as it does not have factory paint.
Still don’t know if transmission and rear end are born with ?
Power brakes were recommended on cars with metallic brakes such as this car.
At some point the Power Steering was added as it’s not noted on the PHS Billing Card or the Window Sticker.

If this car is a legit matching numbers GTO it would be a highly sought after example because of all the performance options noted.

PS, One year only (1965 GTO W/3x2) HD 4 row radiator with filler neck on RH side with matching fan guard.

Nice colors and performance options.

Huh ??

Either something is drastically wrong with this ‘65 (major rust in body / frame), the seller, or terrible advertising.

In stead of 100 photos of the exterior this seller should have documented with photos the completed powertrain (all engine numbers, transmission numbers and rear axle codes), plus pull a brake drum to show the metallic linings.

Put back the factory ordered black wheels with standard hub caps, red line tires and correct the stance.
Complete Gardner exhaust.
Thoroughly clean / detail the interior.
Sort / correct engine bay.

You would have a damn cool ‘65 GTO..

Install the correct cluster bezel (should be wood grain. Engine turned = 1964).

Easy fix as the ‘65 simulated wood grain is underneath the 64 engine turned.

Looks like it’s propped up and not glued to the wood hopefully.
