Looks like a decent deal for a low mile car. It's only an hour from me if anyone would like it checked out.

Gotta run right now but for now I'll just say (not having woodgrain in the rear panel throws up a red flag on the original paint claim) RETRACTED, and where did they find that radiator and shroud, a PU truck??

Bill,

Is it factory paint?

Well Chris, hard to tell without seeing it in person. The closeup pix do seem like factory orange peel lacquer, but a couple things bring pause.

Being a Malibu it should have the stainless trim bars on the taillight lenses.

It has a Super Sport grille (looks like all the punched slots on the ends plus SS blackout) so maybe a repro SS grille with the center emblem added??
Actually this grille as is would be correct for a Concours wagon!

Interesting that it has an AM/FM radio but appears to have an AM only adjustable mast antenna.

Not often seen accessory pass side outside mirror.

It is a really cool wagon, looks like it's passed between dealers?
Any idea what the first dealer was asking? $35K seems all the money.

Call me weird but I actually like it better with the flat wheel covers...:beers:

Bill,

I’ve always loved the station wagons and they are super hard to find in decent condition.
You have an extremely nice Concours example.

So this simulated wood grain your speaking of would be like yours, but not on the sides?

Also I have no idea what they were asking on that Sold advertisement.

Chris,,,,I am correcting myself....

The MALIBU in fact does NOT use the woodgrain on the tailgate.
My feeble brain is so used to seeing the Concours and a couple El Camino's around here WITH the woodgrain that I went off the rails. Apologies!!:beers:

That said, it seems more plausible that it is in fact original paint.

One thing though, in the Jim Mack auction it clearly does not have the tail light lens trim. In the previous dealer's pix it does have the trim?? :hmmm::hmmm:

Thanks for the correction Bill. Your excused.

If it is factory paint with low mileage then the price is reasonable IMO.
Neat long roof.

Bill, I noticed in the Connors Motorcar Co. photos that it had the trim only on the left side. Perhaps one lens was replaced at some point. Did only the Concours model get that taillight trim?
