1969 Z28 carburetor fuel lines

Guys, does anyone offer the correct steel lines from the Y block to the carburetor? All the ones I see online appear to be the "cheap" silvery lines that never seat at either end. Ty, Doc.

I have SS lines on my car. Also used SS brake lines. I see lots of posts about them not seating or sealing, but have never had an issue. I get that they are not original, but willing to accept that trade off for zero rust issues, inside or out.

But, to each his own. I certainly understand someone wanting OE steel.

I put stainless steel lines on my Z/28 for legends judging in 2014. I was told no penalties for brake and gas lines. Under the car was fine, the judge under the hood deducted a couple points for the fuel line to the carb?

Classic Tube in Buffalo used the original lines off my car to fine tune the fitment of their lines to the floor pan for a perfect fit. My old lines are probably still hanging in the pattern racks. If there is a leak, the flares were not made correctly.

My experience with SS hard lines is they have to be murder tight to not leak. There’s a trick that involves a thin smear of good grease where the threaded fitting actually pushes against the back side of the flare. Try it, it really makes a difference!

I have a hydraulic flaring tool that I use to compress the flare before installing them. Seems to work pretty well.
