1967 Corvette Coupe L79 4 speed C60 A/C

A few months back, I got a "tip" from our own Tim G, about this car. Born with L79 drivetrain, A/C, AM/FM, lifelong Oklahoma car. This was purchased out of a 25 year ownership (3rd owner). Bare glass repaint about 8 years ago in it's original Sunfire Yellow over black vinyl. The car retains all of it's dated secondary components, it's original POP, all 5 original DC wheels, original black wall Laredo spare, and ownership history from day 1.

I've got to get this project rolling as there is more on the horizon

I’m glad you got it, Tim. I wanted to find a good home for the yellow L79 and if you didn’t buy it, I probably would have. I don’t need another ‘67. It’s a great car

I am getting busy on the yellow 67 this week. I sent in the photos and information to Al Grenning (CCAS). The trailering arms have been sent out for rebuilding (the bushings were far beyond junk), I replaced the cheap plastic throw out bearing they provide with so many clutches (noisy), and this morning is steam cleaning.

Thankfully a storm passed through last night and changed the temps from the 90's into the low 60's.

I also went to push the u joints out of the half shafts. They were not being cooperative, so I soaked them in Evaporust. When I went to flip them over this morning, I found some inspection marks

Work in progress looks great.
Yeah, that weather was horrible, hot southern wind at 20-30 mph along with tropical humidity. I cut the back yard grass before noon and then hibernated in the house the rest of the day...

Here are some progress pics as of this afternoon. I have plenty of parts to clean up yet. The added bonus was I sliced my left thumb pretty good this morning, trying to change out the half shaft joints. I'll spare you that pic. I friend of mine that has a shop locally will handle the u joints for me. The trailering arms are supposed to be back this afternoon. Depending on how my thumb is doing, I may get those installed tomorrow. Probably smart to wait until Monday though.......:dunno:
