12 bolt rear covers

I trying to determine:

1. on the 68/69 camaro rear end covers - were they the same and did the assembly line correct ones have the notch cut out or not?

2. anyone have experience with the reproduction ones - differences compared to assembly line ones?

Seems to be plenty out on the web, originals and repops.....want to stay original, but am open to other considerations and your experience.

Doing a high end resto on a 68 L78 car - appreciate the thoughts.

Probably not the right person to answer Camaro questions but can speak for Chevelle covers.
68- 69 Chevelle 12 bolt covers do not have any notches.
The bolts are different on ours.
68's all have RBW and the 69 has RSC.

Top pic is 68
Bottom pic is 69.
Dates in different place and different casting numbers but covers same.

Always thought 68- 69 Chevelle, Camaro and Nova took the same cover.

Have a 68 Impala 12 bolt and it has a notched cover.

Repop covers are not an EXACT match.
Easy to find real ones
Good Luck

68- 69 Chevelle at least.
Very likely more apps than them.

Looks like a nice un- pitted one to boot.

Neither the 1968 nor 1969 Camaro original 12 bolt covers had a notch.
