Question about Wheels
I've read that the RPO N66 wheel, commonly called the SS wheel, became available on 1969 Camaro SS's early in the model year and was then cancelled in Jan., 1969. Does anyone know why this wheel was discontinued? Was it an optional wheel where Chevy just did not sell enough of them to offset the production costs? I always liked the styling of that wheel.

N66 wheel
just a guess ... they were on the chevelle and maybe gm wanted them to be
exclusive to chevelle only |
Likely poor sales. Only 314 Camaro SS built with them by the end of 1968.

Optional on both the '69/70 Nova SS & '69 Camaro SS,but '69/70 Chevelle SS & Elcamino SS got it included automatically with their Super Sport package, and into their 1970 production model year too.
Did the '69 Nova SS restrict this wheels availabilty too, like the Camaro SS did during 1969? |
