Same tires on Corvette I had a new 73 Corvette that came with those tires on it

These tires are infamous and for good reason. They shred themselves even when not mounted.

Had a well used 74 Corvette that came with them. Firerock warrantied them 100% in 1981.

Had a 1974 corvette Ls4 from the chip miller collection with 7K original miles.
The spare tire was a firestone radial 500 that was never out and split in half sitting in the tub. They were recalled
This was the car. Tires were replaced

I owned a 1975 Corvette L82 4 speed convertible with AC that had 900 original miles. It still had the original 500s but were off the car. When I sold it, I warned the owner about the tires but of course he didn't listen. He put them on the car and within a couple of days, two of them split. He is very lucky that no damage was done to the car. Anyone who knows me knows that I love original tires but in this case I wouldn't take them even if they were free.
