On this Memorial Day, Let us not forget...

80 years ago today, May 22nd 1944, my oldest cousin Emil Wente Jr., the ball turret gunner on the B-17 Palma II died when shot down while bombing a naval shipyard at Kiel Germany.
On this Memorial Day we must not forget those who have sacrificed all so that we may enjoy our cherished freedoms. |
Thank you for posting this Bill. My Dad was a World War II Veteran that was in the Pacific Theater. Thank you to all Veterans and their service.
