1969 L78 396/375HP & L72 427/425HP Distributor 1111499 Dated 8M12
 

This is an original 1111499 distributor which was used on 1969 L78 396/375HP and L72 427/425HP engines. The date code is 8M12 which decodes as December 12th, 1968. These factory high performance distributors were routinely replaced with aftermarket performance distributors as day 2 performance parts and most of the originals were tossed out long ago. These originals have become very hard to find, especially with a late 68 date code.

This distributor is in good unrestored condition as shown. I see no breaks or repairs to this unit. The stampings are clean and chrisp as shown. It looks like someone lightly wire brushed the numbers to see what they had, it wasn't me. The advance cam is stamped 732 CCW. The vacuum advance is stamped MS 355 15 functions when vacuum is applied. This distributor turns smoothly with no binding or sloppiness. The wire that hooks up to the coil is intact with the factory crows foot connector as shown. This is a very nice factory high performance distributor.
