Original owner 69 L78 out on a 90+ humid day in chicago burbs....
What are the odds you run across a Vietnam Vet that got his L78 car when he got back from the war, was out doing a mail run when its closing in on 93 degrees outside?. Invited him back to my house so we could share a beverage and he could tell me what I dont know about the L78 I have.
Cool car, X66, real cowl hood car, rubber bumper, 4:10, curved neck radiator. Its repainted obviously but interior is original. Great way to start the weekend early!!! If anyone can post the picture from these links, I would appreciate it. Had to share my good fortune. https://www.flickr.com/photos/196053...res/2T82342ZiU https://www.flickr.com/photos/196053...res/t8BL34a31y |

That is very cool.

Badass.
It was so hot out today too, must have it running pretty good not to worry about overheating. |

That car pretty much epitomizes what roughly 70% of the 'cool' cars running the streets back in the day looked like, at least in the suburban Chicago area where I lived most of my life. A few were more radical, some were left pretty much stock appearing, but if you were one of the hot shoes (or at least a wannabe), this was the look you were going for. Thanks for sharing, and kudos to the lucky owner.
