I mean, wow. This was hilarious. I gotta start pricing my items to four decimals... hah!

Probably from "The 99c Store".....they've been doing that for several years now. Ridiculous.

Looks like consumer fraud to me.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Bill is correct.

So when you get to the cashier and hand her the $1.50 . . . can you make a stink that she didn't give you your 1/1000th of a cent change?

:haha:

AnthonyS 07-13-2023 03:39 AM

^ hah! Nope, everything gets (conveniently) rounded to two decimal points…

And the cashiers have no sense of humor there. Like, at all.

It IS California...

Personally, when I see a price of $1.49, my brain automatically sees it as $1.50. The 9999 at the end doesn't mean anything. After all, there will be tax and it will still be more then $1.50 anyway.
It is silly that they do that, why not just make it $1.50 and be done with the games. It's not like they are making a lot of money on this. If they sell 10,000 items a day for that additional .01, at the end of the day, they only got another $100.
