God Bless America...
1 Attachment(s)
I received an e-mail today from a great gal who sent me this video of a 1970 TV show featuring John Wayne and a cast of famous Hollywood types singing 'God Bless America'.
It's certainly a throw back to another time...but not too far back for many of you. I doubt it could be done this way today...and while it is certainly 'campy' and perhaps 'corny'...it warms my heart. Hopefully it will warm yours. Enjoy...wilma :flag::flag::flag: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zm4wQJEZlvI |
Honestly, I don't care what anyone thinks, I love that video. I miss those times of patriotism, when it wasn't painted with the negative nationalist brush. I don't think it's a sin to be proud of our country.
This is another good song about those who fought and made the ultimate sacrifice for the USA. Mr. Red, White and Blue https://youtu.be/_ds3MvMUdNk |

Well said Mark! Ditto.

Thanks for posting that!
It's a reminder I have given my kids many times. When they mention how times are so hard and they wonder how long the country will survive I remind them of their history classes when they were taught about the civil war where Americans were killing Americans, brave American boys storming the beach at Normandy, the Great Depression, people building bomb shelters, Black Friday, and so many other examples of how resilient this country is when the times are toughest. Best country in the world! The way it looks now Ukraine might be the second best! |
Same here, when my kids start complaining (5 all adults) I remind them they can live anywhere in the world they choose and to feel free to try it out....no takers so far.
I pray the Ukrainian's prevail in some way. It just seems so odd to see that type of event going on at this time and yet it is a reminder of a lot of things....I won't go into here. |
Completely agree. If there was ever a defining moment of a person,it's this direct quote from Ukrainian President Zelenskyy..
"I need ammunition,not a ride." |
I don't know what to think about the Ukraine situation. I believe there are good people there but it's also one of the world's largest traffickers of humans as well as the home to several biological weapon labs. To me, there seems to be more to it than what we hear in the news. I pray for the innocent people to be spared in any case.
