Ceramic coating for headers (Chicago area)
 

Bought some reproduction factory headers for my 68 z/28 and wondered of there are any good recommendations for ceramic coaters in the Chicagoland area.
I can find a few, but wondered if there were some recommendations.

LO-KO performance coatings in oak lawn. been using them for years with no problems.

I have used both places....both are very good at what they do. If I have to pick one for Headers...I would choose Lo-Ko Performance.

I think the color depends on who I would use.

LO-KO has been doing NicKeys headers since we opened our doors. New cars and Vintage as well.

thanks so much for the inputs! probably going to do black. white would be my favorite choice so unsure at moment.

Are you guys using people that do hi temp coatings or ceramic? I had jet hot do a set of manifolds that look beautiful and have a set of headers I need done. I am not crazy about the price! I have a friend that used a local powder coater for headers and I didnt know if they would stay nice or not

Hi Bill, I would just call the folks that do the ceramic and ask them what the difference is. I would surmise its the better top end temperature rating of the material they use.
