85 GMC Sierra Calssic K1500...

2 Attachment(s)
Been doing a lot of maintenance and minor repairs to my 85 GMC Sierra Classic K1500 pickup. I bought this truck new in October 1984

Just found out power window motor is bad...driver's door. Any suggestions on the best source for replacement...and should I get it complete with regulator assembly???

Also need to do some exhaust work...head pipes are very solid...mufflers and tailpipes are shot. Looking for a simple and reasonably priced solution.

Thanks....:flag:

Tom, I have a great guy in Long Island for exhaust but he's not close to you...

Nice truck! glad to see that you kept it.

Rock Auto has the muffler for less than $30.

Didn't see the tail pipes listed, but would guess someone has them pre made.

When I was building my El Camino, I bought a complete dual exhaust system for less than $200. One normally spends more than that at the muffler shop. Piece of cake putting on pre-bent pipes.

85 GMC Sierra Classic...

Here is an update:

My mechanic checked the window switch and it is ok...looks like the motor is shot. I ordered one thru my local NAPA dealer...also the regulator assembly.

I may cut corners on the exhaust...I will get a pair of mufflers from NAPA sized like the current ones...head pipes are good. We will cut off the old mufflers and install two new ones with 'down spouts'...along with some universal hangers. This will get me thru the hunting season...next spring I will look at upgrades...maybe a complete system with headers. Any thoughts on a quality system are welcome..

thanks for the feedback...
