'68 #s RS/Z Orig Paint Survivor, CA Black Plate Car

Sweet car - blue on black on blue RS with docs. These days, the opening bid of $70k doesn't seem as crazy as it would have seemed a year ago. Being a CA car, the paint may actually clean up fairly well.

The miles looked right.

Interesting that it has a base '67 steering wheel in it.

Is that the correct smog pump? And that smog pulley doesn’t look like a DG to me in the above photo…

One of the stories my dad liked to tell was about how hard they had to work at Chevrolet Flint Manufacturing (aka "Chevy in the Hole") to get the gas cap to end up straight when it was in the fully locked position. Between the assembly variation within the cap itself, the variation of the cam lock to the fuel tank filler neck, the variation of the neck to the tank, and the tank installation to the vehicle body, it was an ongoing issue.

When he saw Danny Scott's Pro Street Camaro that is one of the first things he noticed: Danny used the gas cap as the master electrical cutoff switch.

Rotated out of position = "Off"

Rotated into position = "On"

Was that really 28 years ago?

Geez.

Yes, I saw that car daily-when my wife Lynn worked at Guaranty Chevrolet!
